Le boucher fou est de retour ! On ne peut que rester admiratif devant la constance et la fidélité du groupe à son Thrash old school des débuts. Le combo s’en donne à cœur joie sans subir les tentations de la mode, imperméable à toute velléité commerciale. Ça bourrine, ça gueule, ça fait du bruit, c’est du bon gros Thrash qui tache. Ceux qui connaissaient déjà le groupe ne pourront pas être déçu par ce nouveau brûlot. Pour les autres, disons que le schéma est simple : une succession de riffs mordants (mais pas de « gros son » à proprement parler), une rythmique assez rapide sans être Speed, des mélodies primaires, un chant hargneux, plutôt aiguë mais pas braillard. On oubliera les solos, qui ne sont pas l’atout de cette formation teutonne.
Alors, bien sûr, on pourra toujours reprocher aux membres de DESTRUCTION de ne pas évoluer et de se contenter de nous livrer constamment la même musique. Mais ce serait injuste, car ils s’imposent depuis leur reformation comme des gardiens d’une tradition Thrash à laquelle beaucoup sont très attachés (j’en fait partie).
