Attention, ici nous avons à faire à un guitariste pro et il tent à nous le démontrer avec sa technique acquise à travers notamment ses bagages plus qu'honorables. En effet, il est démonstrateur des guitares Ibanez, fait des cahiers pédagogiques pour le magazine Guitar & Bass et il est diplômé avec mention spéciale du jury en 1989 par le Centre Musical et Créatif de Nancy...
Avec une telle intro, on peut se dire que les 13 titres vont tourner à la démonstration et puis en fait par moment c'est vrai mais cela passe plutôt bien dans nos conduits auditifs. Il faut dire aussi que pour cet album Manu Livertout s'est entouré de bons musiciens, en l'occurrence ceux de Scarve avec Dirk Verbeuren à la batterie (décidément il est partout celui là !), Guillaume Bideau au chant et Philippe Elter à la basse (bon d'accord, pour lui Scarve : c'est du passé)...
Pour ce qui est du style, bah en fait, je vous laisse seul juge en allant écouter les extraits figurant sur le site du sieur Livertout (lien ci-dessous). Un intérêt tout particulier se porte (pour ma part) sur la piste 13 "Is That Country Or What" largement inspiré des vieux tapping de Satriani et part sur un délire musical fort intéressant...
Au final, un album abouti avec divers influences et styles, le tout ne se prenant pas au sérieux d'où certainement son nom "Autoparody". Soit on accroche et on prend un certain plaisir ou à l'inverse on le jette à la poubelle...
