SINAMORE est un nouveau venu dans notre paysage musical. Il s’agit du projet d’un seul homme, Mikko Heikkilä (chant/guitare), qui s’est entouré d’amis d’enfance pour accoucher de cet album de Rock/Metal Gothique moderne.
On peut reprocher au groupe de reluquer parfois du côté de certain de ses aînés (KATATONIA ou HIM étant des influences assumées) et de vouloir ratisser large en proposant une musique à fort potentiel commercial. On est également proche de CHARON, la maturité en moins. Cependant on ne pourra pas se plaindre de la qualité de l’ensemble dont l’écoute agréable s’achève avec l’envie de se le réécouter !
Les ingrédients sont simples mais savamment employés : un chant langoureux, souvent mélancolique et de grosses guitares saturées. Les compositions ne s’encombrent pas de structures complexes ; elles reprennent les bases du Rock/Metal mélodique : rythmiques lourdent compensées par de belles mélodies.
Cette simplicité n’est pas un inconvénient puisque la qualité des compositions est évidente. Tout au plus peut-on constater que certains titres se contentent de suivre paresseusement ce rythme de croisière sans vraiment convaincre pleinement : la guitare est trop basique et le chant sombre dans la mièvrerie facile. Mais, une fois encore, ces incartades ne doivent pas nous détourner du plaisir que l’on éprouve à écouter cet album.
Quelques rares écarts viennent enrichir le tout : des bribes de chant Death sur “Drama For Two”, quelques accents de Nu sur “Follow Into The Cry”. On sent que le groupe se cherche encore.
A New Day a été mixé par Anssi Kippo (LULLACRY, CHILDREN OF BODOM) aux Astia Studios et mixé par Mika Jussila au Finnvox. On n’aura pas vraiment l’occasion de se réjouir de ce travail, correct mais largement perfectible.
Du coup, on attend leur deuxième album en se disant que ça risque d’être gros.
