Après un premier album sympathique et une participation remarquée (faute d’être victorieuse) à l’Eurovision, WIG WAM revient avec ce Wig Wamania plus mature et plus attachant. On retrouve cette synthèse des différents courants Rock/Hard FM des années 80 avec de nombreux emprunts à BON JOVI, FIREHOUSE, DEF LEPPARD et un paquet d’autres qu’il serait vain d’énumérer tant la liste est longue ! Comme sur l’opus précédent, l’originalité n’a pas sa place mais il ne faudrait pas ranger trop rapidement cet album parmi les pâles copies qui fleurissent de partout. Car la justesse du ton est assez remarquable et le plaisir d’écoute est évident. Les 12 compositions – que l’on jurerait sorties des tiroirs de Desmond Child – respirent la bonne humeur d’une époque où, pour séduire les kids, il n’était pas nécessaire de parler de suicide.
Pendant ¾ d’heure, WIG WAM égraine un à un tous les clichés des 80’s, mais le savoir-faire est franchement bluffant et le résultat enthousiasmant. La bonne humeur du groupe devient vite communicative ce qui permet à l’auditeur d’avaler cet album avec autant d’aisance qu’un cocktail rafraîchissant un jour de canicule.
