GERGOVIA est le projet d’un seul homme Lord Necron. Créé en mai 2004, ce projet solo est sans contraintes, sans avoir à faire de compromis vis à vis d’autres musiciens, Coulée de Lave est le second méfait de ce one man band gaulois. GERGOVIA est déjà de retour avec un album plus puissant et malsain.
C’est donc avec la redoutable arme qu’est le Black Metal, que Lord Necron, âme pensante de GERGOVIA a décider d’exprimer ses idées et ses convictions, ainsi que de rendre hommages à nos illustres ancêtres.
Les compositions sont froides, droites et crades telles une marche à travers les profondeurs de l’Auvergne. La musique ne manque pas de brutalité, mais une brutalité maîtrisée et enrobée de mélodies. Le chant est typiquement Black Metal mais reste audible et compréhensible. Les tortures provoquées par ce chant déchiré et diabolique transpercent les terres d’Auvergne jusqu’à faire frémir tous les amateurs de Black Metal. Les paroles en français sont très régionalistes (et pas trop inspirées), faisant gloire aux grandes terres d’auvergnes et aux ancêtres gaulois. Cependant ces nouvelles compositions ont un caractère plus brut, plus direct, afin de retrouver l’atmosphère primaire et maladive de ce style, tel le morceau « Âme Guerrière » qui porte bien son nom.
Tous les éléments se déchaînent et GERGOVIA se veut plus menaçant, plus barbare comme sur « Triomphant » et « Le Retour de Mon Père ». La musique n’est pas dénuée de mélodies (« Coulée de Lave ») et cet album s’adresse à tous les fans de Black Metal sale et crade bien qu’il y ait une reprise du groupe de Death Suédois UNLEASHED qui n’a rien à faire sur ce genre d’album !
Coulée de Lave est dans la même veine que son prédécesseur Déclaration de Guerre mais en beaucoup plus personnel et arrangé. La production donne un son crade et saturé comme le veut ce style, et le son des guitares en rebutera sûrement certains. Chaque instrument est audible, comme la basse qui est mise un peu plus en avant et qui donne un effet glacial et la boite à rythme, programmée quelquefois un peu approximativement. Les nombreuses fautes d’orthographes du livret viennent gâcher cette galette. Sans limites et fier d’un héritage qu’il honore par sa musique, GERGOVIA a proposé un second album qui ne révolutionnera pas le genre et qui peut par moment décevoir un peu… c’est dommage !
