Les amateurs de Hard Rock mélodique savent que FAIR WARNING est synonyme de qualité. Leur discographie recèle quelques petits bijoux que l’on n’est pas prêt d’oublier. Ils se réunissent après un break de 6 ans, avec un album qui s’inscrit dans la droite lignée des précédents. On retrouve donc un Hard Rock à la fois percutant et très mélodique, alliant riffs et refrains imparables. Brother’s Keeper correspond exactement à ce que l’on attend d’un bon album de Hard FM.
Le groupe attaque en force avec « Don’t Keep Me Waiting » qui est une bonne synthèse du savoir-faire des Allemands. Puis on enchaîne sur le titre atomique, « Generation Jedi », un véritable chef d’œuvre qui ne pourra que laisser pantois les connaisseurs. Son refrain est plus addictif que la cocaïne. A tel point qu’elle occulte un temps le reste de l’album.
Mais la surprise passée, on découvre les autres perles de ce magnifique opus. « The Cry » tout en délicatesse, les superbes mid-tempo « Rainbow Eyes » et « In The Dark », l’énergique « Tell Me Lies », « Once Bitten, Twice Shy » très groovie... ils faudrait tous les citer puisque cet album ne comporte presque aucune faiblesse. L’édition européenne contient un titre bonus, « Still I Believe » : un hit de plus !
Brother’s Keeper n’est pas un monument d’originalité dans ce sens où FAIR WARNING se contente d’appliquer une recette qu’il maîtrise à la perfection. Les connaisseurs pourront donc reprocher un petit air de « déjà vu », mais ce sentiment sera largement compensé par l’énorme potentiel de cet album. Les compositions sont toutes extrêmement bien construites et bénéficient d’arrangements assez époustouflants.
Brother’s Keeper fait partie de ces rares albums qui s’écoutent de bout en bout avec un égal plaisir.
