Dès les premières notes, impossible de se tromper, il s’agit incontestablement de HAREM SCAREM. Et l’injustice nous semble alors flagrante : comment se fait-il qu’un groupe ayant un son et un style si reconnaissable, ayant signé tant de bonnes chansons (dont quelques gros hits) ne soit jamais cité lorsqu’on parle de Hard Fm ? Pourquoi n’ont-ils jamais réussi à se hisser au niveau de MR. BIG par exemple ?
Pete Lesperance ouvre donc cet album de sa guitare inimitable qui va imprégner l’album entier. Les quatre premiers titres sont de véritables bijoux dans la pure tradition HAREM SCAREM : des mélodies savamment travaillées, des riffs bien présents, des refrains accrocheurs sans être racoleurs, de l’émotion, des solos de folie, bref du plaisir. Ce rythme endiablé prend fin avec l’apparition de la première ballade « Hanging On », un régal.
Le reste de l’album reste très correct bien que moins flamboyant : « Going Under » est une pâle resucée de titres plus anciens et les Canadiens semblent avancer en roue libre ; « Give Love/Get Love » est également très conventionnelle, en revanche elle bénéficie d’un refrain qui fait un peu penser à QUEEN.
Le tout s’achève par une reprise acoustique de « Higher » (sur l’album du même nom).
