INFEST, petit groupe de Bayonne, sort ici sont premier album, après une première démo éponyme et un cd promo. Le combo évolue dans un style brutal, mélangeant Death, Grind et HardCore. L’élèment le plus marquant est le chant de Bud, très aigu, loin des grognements bestiaux auxquels on pourrait s’attendre dans ce genre, et qui risque d’en rebuter plus d’un. A part ça, ça bastonne sévère pendant ces 28 minutes et quelques, entre blasts et passages plus lourd. Bien que leur musique ne soit pas réellement novatrive, INFEST pioche un peu partout dans ce qui se fait de plus efficace. Ce manque de personnalité pose problème au bout de quelques écoutes : déjà que 28 minutes ce n’est pas lourd, mais aucun des 11 titres ne ressort du lot.
Le point fort de cet album est la production. Un son aussi propre, où on entend bien tous les instruments, pour un premier album et ce dans un style aussi bourrin, ça mérite d’être salué. Le groupe se fend d’un joli digipack, en plus d’y inclure un clip enregistré en live. On sent que le combo à voulut proposer un produit soigné et bien fait, ce qui est fort louable.
Bref si vous êtes fan du style et que vous avez envis de vous faire saigner les oreilles sans forcément rechercher l’originalité, allez-y c’est du bon ! En plus ils sont français, que demande le peuple ?
