Ils sont légions les groupes de Metal qui naissent et qui, souvent, meurent tout aussi vite. Et cette légion, personne ne peut la connaître de manière totalement exhaustive. Ce qui est bien dommage parce que, parfois, on tombe sur un groupe qu’on n’aurait jamais écouté si on avait dû attendre qu’il nous tombe tout cuit dans le bec. Ces groupes découverts au hasard d’une revue ou d’un site ne sont pas toujours de bonnes découvertes, ou pas forcément non plus des coups de cœur, mais simplement de bons groupes qu’on prend plaisir à faire découvrir aux autres. END OF EVERYTHING ne sera pas un coup de cœur pour moi, mais c’est un groupe qui aura eu le mérite de me faire passer un bon moment en leur compagnie avec un Metalcore touchant de sincérité, de volonté de progresser et d’aller plus loin.
Three est un album découpé en quatre parties. Chacune se termine par une variation autour du thème du morceau « Three », justement. Quatre versions dans lesquels l’intensité monte progressivement. Partant de quelque chose de très calme, cela se termine pas un morceau, certes lent, mais avec de la distorsion à fond et des hurlements en arrière plan, alors qu’on avait des fredonnements dans la première partie.
Mais « Three » ne fait pas tout l’album. Bon, il ne reste plus que huit morceaux sur les douze pour contenter le curieux, mais c’est bien assez. Parce que END OF EVERYTHING a tendance à s’essouffler un peu sur la fin. Donc, il ne leur faut pas un album qui s’éternise. Là, c’est comme il faut. Et on retrouve de véritables petits morceaux très sympas, comme « Beg To Differ », un de leurs morceaux les plus puissants, par sa simplicité technique, mais aussi par sa volonté de faire un morceau plus rythmique. « Calm » fait aussi partie des bons morceaux de ce Three. Une nouvelle fois, c’est sa simplicité qui m’a séduit.
Au final, qu’en est-il de ce Three ? Sans atteindre des sommets, c’est un album honnête qui fait passer un bon moment et laisse espérer pour le futur du groupe d’avoir un album encore meilleur. La seule chose qui m’a dérangé, c’est le chant porté sur le screamo. Mais ce n’est pas non plus quelque chose d’impossible à apprécier non plus, puisqu’il s’intègre très bien à l’ensemble.
