« Eh, t’as vu, PROCESS vient de sortir son nouvel album ? M’en fou, connais pas ».
C’est un peu ce que j’aurais pu répondre il y a de cela quelques semaines. Aujourd’hui, je m’en voudrai de ne serait-ce qu’avoir pu passer à côté de cet album. Je ne suis pas prompt à distribuer des 10/10 à la volée, mais il est clair que j’écouterai Posséder Et Appartenir encore longtemps quand d’autres albums m’auront lassé. Et pourtant, tout n’était pas gagné à l’avance…
En effet, quand j’ai commencé à écouter cet album, je me suis dit que ça sonnait bien et que ça faisait vraiment penser à du EVANECENCE en français. Bon, déjà le côté chant en français m’a séduit mais là, tout de suite, maintenant, j’aurais plutôt envie de me coller des baffes de cette comparaison. Parce qu’à côté de la musique de PROCESS, celle d’EVANESCENCE me paraît aujourd’hui bien fade. Et pourtant, j’aime beaucoup ce groupe. Donc, un EVANECENCE en français... Et puis, je me suis plongé dans l’univers de PROCESS, dans leurs textes, dans leur musique, et je me suis noyé dans la voix fabuleuse de Liz. Elle possède une telle force, une telle maîtrise, une telle assurance, une telle émotion, qui m’a touché au plus profond de ce que je suis. Et puis, une voix avec un caractère Pop très affirmé, mais une maîtrise qui surpasse tout ce qu’on entend dans la dite Pop, ça ne pouvait que me plaire.
Bien sûr, Liz n’est pas seule dans le groupe, et la musique joue pour beaucoup dans mon plongeon du côté de chez PROCESS. Cette fausse simplicité dans les riffs qui pètent, ces samples qui sonnent vraiment tous juste et cette volonté qua chaque instrument trouve sa place sans écraser les autres, tout cela fait que la musique de PROCESS est d’une grande force. Elle provient certainement de la maturité qui ne fait pas l’ombre d’un doute. Les notes sont toutes pesées et millimétrées, sans pour autant perdre un je ne sais quoi de spontanéité bienfaitrice. Et les textes… que serait PROCESS sans ses textes. On ne peut pas les taxer de simples, même s’ils savent aller là où les problèmes sont pour les montrer du doigt. Mais c’est toujours fait avec beaucoup de talent et de délicatesse. De la poésie. Une nouvelle maîtrise à ajouter à ce groupe. C’est ainsi que le refrain de « Toute Ta Vie » vous prendra aux tripes, que la langueur de « Eva » ne pourra vous laisser indifférent et que « Wake Up » saura vous réveiller.
PROCESS est un groupe fait pour ceux qui aiment les groupes métalliques à belle voix féminine, pour ceux qui aiment la Pop avec un soupçon d’agressivité dedans, pour ceux qui aiment la beauté des textes, pour ceux qui aiment chercher d’autres choses ou pour ceux qui sont à fond dans le Metal mais qui savent aussi ouvrir leur esprit pour découvrir de nouveaux talents là où ils n’ont pas l’habitude de regarder.
