MURKY ZONE est un groupe né dans la région bordelaise. Le line up a beaucoup évolué (un puis deux puis un guitariste, un puis deux puis plus du tout de chanteur « indépendant », le chant étant repris par Thomas à la guitare et Adeline à la basse) avant de retrouvé ce qu’il était à ses débuts, c'est-à-dire Eric à la batterie, Adeline à la basse et Thomas à la guitare. Aujourd’hui, ils reviennent avec une nouvelle démo. Et ce qu’on peut dire c’est qu’on découvre un groupe tout nouveau par rapport à leur précédente production, Fuerza. En effet, autant le son d’avant pouvait faire amateur, pas trop soigné voire un peu dégoulinant, autant là, l’effort a été fait pour que les oreilles sensibles de ceux qui n’ont jamais connu les productions des temps anciens puissent ne pas trop souffrir par des effets désastreux et pas forcément souhaités. Et le mieux pour comparer étant la chanson « Fuerza » que le groupe semble apprécier par-dessus tout puisqu’ils l’ont enregistré une nouvelle fois. Et on entend tout de suite la différence. A presque croire que le groupe n’est pas le même ! Même les deux autres titres issus d’un concert enregistré en juin 2007 sont plus propres que les précédents efforts sur Fuerza. Bien sûr, ceux qui n’aiment pas le Hardcore ne trouveront toujours pas leur bonheur dans MURKY ZONE. Le changement n’est pas aussi radical, faut pas rêver. Par contre, même la section rythmique semble avoir progressée. Autant elle était souvent bancale sur Fuerza, autant elle est beaucoup plus sûre d’elle à présent. J’ai toutefois encore beaucoup de mal avec le chant ; je le trouve beaucoup trop criard et pas assez compréhensible. Mais ça, c’est une question de goût.
Ceux qui avaient trouvé que le groupe aurait pu faire mieux auparavant devrait écouter cette nouvelle démo. Ils découvriront sans doute un groupe neuf, certainement pas révolutionnaire, mais qui a su évoluer. Et s’il a su le faire par le passé, on peut encore espérer que cela sera encore le cas dans le futur.
