Comme SEPULTURA, KRISIUN ou REBAELLIUN, NERVOCHAOS est un groupe brésilien de Death Metal. Point. La comparaison s’arrête là. Car même si ces groupes sont la principale influence du combo. Cet album, Quarrel In Hell, n’arrive pas en dessous de la cheville d’un amputé des deux jambes. Il est donc difficile de comprendre le choix de Ibex Moon Records de rééditer cet opus seulement un an après sa sortie chez Tumba Records. Ce troisième album des brésiliens serait-il déjà sold out ???
Orienté version Death Metal Old School, NERVOCHAOS ne se démarque pas par son originalité, ni pas sa technique débordante. Accompagné par une multitude de guest comme Alex Camargo (KRISIUN), John McEntee (INCANTATION), Emperor Magnus Caligula (DARK FUNERAL), Wrath Sathariel Diabolus et Sanguine Mapsama (AVERSE SEFIRA), et enfin Barney de NAPALM DEATH, on pouvait se dire que cet opus allait tenir la route… que les invités allaient apporter une valeur ajoutée et bien… nada.. rien. Quarrel In Hell est plat, sans aucun intérêt, d’une pauvresse technique à faire pleurer un apprenti guitariste. Pourtant cela bourrine bien, mais cela reste de la musique ennuyeuse. Idem pour la reprise « Iron Fist » de MOTORHEAD incluse en ghost track, qui n’a rien à apporter à cet opus et ne vaut pas l’originale.
Je ne trouve rien dans cette galette qui puisse la sortir de sa monotonie : pas un riff de guitare ne sonne accrocheur, le chant est râpeux, avec des growls sans conviction, même les quelques solos présents sont d’une pauvreté et peu inspirés. Bref les compos sont douteuses, assez insipides et toujours simplistes.
Ce Quarrel In Hell de NERVOCHAOS est une pale copie de ce qui se fait de moins bien en matière de Death Metal Old School dénué de toute technique.
