BLEED THE SKY fait partie de ces groupes pète burnes à chroniquer. En effet, pendant l’écoute, c’est plutôt sympa, ça donne envie de bouger un peu son cul avec d’autres dans une fosse (sceptique ?) mais une fois que l’écoute est terminée, eh bien, il ne reste qu’une impression générale mais pas de souvenirs précis des morceaux. Ce qui, pour en parler, est plutôt gênant, n’est-il pas ?
BLEED THE SKY officie dans un mélange entre gros Metal rythmique et Hardcore. En fait, son disque devrait être estampillé « 100% tubes pour tes soirées moshpit ». Les morceaux sont le plus souvent dans un mid tempo très appuyé avec quelques accélérations de temps en temps, mais pas trop. La section rythmique s’éclate à nous faire de pures cassures de rythmes et des syncopes à tout va, mais le tout se tient bien. On a l’impression d’avoir entendu cela mille fois déjà, je suis d’accord, mais c’est bien fait et cela mérite d’être souligné. Et le travail de la double grosse caisse est vraiment impressionnant. Bien sûr, on a un suivi entre les riffs de guitare et la double, mais pas seulement. Elle vient parfois sortir des sentiers battus pour ponctuer ce qui doit l’être ou nous pondre un roulement de double pas dégueu là où on l’attend pas forcément. Un bon gros travail d’orfèvre donc. Si vous voulez vous en rendre compte, pas la peine de chercher très loin, « Knife Fight In A Phone Booth » en est une parfaite démonstration. Au niveau du chant, c’est la plupart du temps hurlé, avec quelques incursions de chant clair (« Sullivan ») qui n’apporte pas grand-chose à l’ensemble. On a l’impression de faire une incursion dans la sphère Metalcore alors qu’on n’y nage pas du tout. Par contre, on ne peut parler de Murder The Dance sans s’attarder deux secondes sur « Occam’s Razor ». Ce titre est une étrangeté sur cette galette. Une guitare légèrement saturée mais bien crade, une batterie assez calme… un peu dans un trip slipknotesque version Vol.3: The Subliminal Verses. Lent, pas très violent, mais horriblement malsain. Le morceau fait vraiment bizarre au milieu des autres et on a du mal à trouver une justification à sa présence.
Donc, BLEED THE SKY, ça s’écoute sans problème, mais ce n’est certainement pas le groupe qui vous restera gravé dans la mémoire. Il manque un chtit quelque chose pour cela.
