SAEL offre avec Océan un CD quatre titres qui n’est pas encore un album mais n’est déjà plus une démo. Quatre titres qui emmènent l’auditeur dans un monde sombre et glacial, dérangeant et avec une étonnante capacité à provoquer un état de démence. Le côté schizophrénique de la musique n’y est certes pas étranger. Un titre comme « Océan » porte toute l’essence de ce postulat. Les plages Doom qui débutent le morceau et donne à l’auditeur une relative impression de sécurité ne préparent en rien aux déferlantes de brutalité qui s’ensuivent où les blast beats destructeurs ne laissent aucun répit aux âmes non préparées. De plus, « Océan » nargue en se permettant, de temps à autre, des intrusions dans un monde plus calme, certes cristallin et d’apparence figé, mais qui donne un illusoire effet de plénitude alors que la seconde d’après le tsunami reprend son travail de destruction massive. « Ivresse De Lune » fait plus l’effet d’un monolithe pantagruélique qu’on ne se sent pas capable d’ingérer en une seule fois. Et c’est cette alternance qui donne toute sa personnalité à ce disque. Certes SAEL ne réinvente pas la roue mais il sait nous prendre par la main pour nous proposer une incursion dans son monde terrifiant et glacial. Le voyage n’est sans doute pas fait pour tout le monde. Certains ne voudront pas s’y risquer. Les plus vaillants auront parfois des surprises et se surprendront même à frôler une certaine aliénation.
Pour ma part, j’ai plus apprécié le voyage à travers un « Océan » que la sensation d’une « Ivresse De Lune ». Mais c’est aussi dans sa diversité que l’auditeur trouvera le salut dans l’écoute de ce disque.
