Changement de nom, passant de DESTINY à THE DESTINY PROGRAM. Changement de label passant de Life Force Records au très prestigieux Nuclear Blast. Subversive Blueprint est le dernier album de ce groupe allemand paru en 2007 après The Tracy Chapter en 2004. Cet opus confirme le talent du groupe déjà ressenti dans leur précédente sortie. Légèrement plus mélodique et plus posé que le dernier, on sent beaucoup plus de profondeur dans la composition. La voix lyrique de Johannes Formella est beaucoup plus mis en avant, surtout pendant les refrains ou en accompagnant les hurlements qui créer un duo imposant. « Welcome Overboard » et « Rebell Press » le montre bien. Dans « Neurosis and Projection » c'est le chant lyrique qui prend le dessus dans un morceau assez calme. L'alternance entre partie bien baston (« The Personal Revolution ») et partie instrumentale est beaucoup plus présente. Il suffit d'écouter « Mithra » pour s'en convaincre, morceau se terminant par un superbe solo de piano. On savoure pleinement la guitare (Sebastian Formella) qui peut passer d'un mode agressif à un mode beaucoup plus mélodique (« Walk In Step With The March Of History »). C'est aussi ça la différence, un cœur d'album bien homogène : une batterie (Jim Patrick) survitaminée (« The Frequency »), bien présente et violente, la basse (Sascha Bath-Ahmer) de qui dévoile ses riffs destructeurs. Mais surtout la voix de Johannes Formella qui nous montre l'étendu de ses possibilités. Hurlée et puissante, calme et posée. On est parfois surprit de ce mélange presque parfait. Et à cela se greffent des petites parties moins violentes, un peu plus instrumentales. Le résultat est donné, rien à dire.
Décidément THE DESTINY PROGRAM est bien parti pour devenir un grand dans le genre. Groupe à suivre de très près.
