TREACHERY est un nouveau venu dans le monde underground du Black Metal Insustriel aux accents Dark et Ambiant ! Groupe venant du Minnesota aux Etats-Unis, Treachery est son premier enregistrement, ce EP est composé de 5 titres sombres, rauques et anxieux, de Black Metal aux sonorités industriel et de long passages ambiants.
Comme pour la majorité des groupes évoluant dans ce style, la production minimaliste donne un son rauque et nihiliste. Les 5 titres de ce premier enregistrement viennent d’univers différents : si les premiers morceaux sonnent comme du Raw-Black-Metal primaire, le dernier « Enter Dominion » est à la limite de l’ambiant pur et simple pour transgresser vers un mal-être maladifs caractérisé par les cris inhumains de « Hecate » qui est en fait Rachael Kozak qui a collaboré avec les autrichiens de BELPHEGOR !
Le premier titre de cet EP est totalement ambiant, sombre, angoissant et annonce la couleur (noir) pour les suivants, qui deviennent ultra virulent et la fusion entre les genres fonctionne ! Les atmosphères oppressantes et obscures donnent un effet malsain pour hanter et donner des cauchemars aux âmes sensibles… Très proche d’un Black Metal Primitif angoissant, « Kiss The Fist » est effrayant et le trio parvient à faire naître des sentiments de malaise.
Sur ce premier opus, on sent bien que le trio cherche encore un peu sa voie, hésitant entre un Black Metal Primitif et cette nouvelle vague d’Ambiant rempli d’influences venant du Black Metal extrême, maladif, torturé et agonisant. Pourtant bien que les 23 minutes de cet EP soient angoissantes, on ne peut s’empêcher de penser que quelques dizaines de minutes de plus n’auraient pas été si mal que ça… on a toujours ce même regret à la fin de chaque EP intéressant… il va donc falloir patienter jusqu’à un véritable premier album…
