Amortis arrive d'Autriche et sort son deuxième album "Gift Of Tongue" chez Blackend, le premier étant sorti sur le défunt Last Episode. Après des débuts donnant plus dans le Death Metal, le groupe a changé son fusil d'épaule afin de s'orienter vers un Black Metal Symphonique d'excellentes factures.
"Gift Of Tongue" dont le concept base sur les "serials killers" est torturé, morbide et sombre à souhait. Amortis ne se contente pas de jouer un Black Metal Symphonique en copiant les leaders du genre que sont Cradle Of Filth et Dimmu Borgir mais apporte sa pierre angulaire à l'édifice en élargissant la vision du style. Les claviers sont omniprésent et sont tantôt symphoniques, tantôt atmosphériques. Les vocaux ne sont pas typiquement Black et lorgne parfois vers le Death Metal tout comme la musique.
Ce deuxième album d'Amortis est une réussite, espérons qu'il rencontrera le succès escompté.
