Je me dis des fois qu’être chroniqueur ça a du bon. Il faut être honnête, on doit s’écouter des trucs pas forcément géniaux, voire de sombres bouses, mais parfois on tombe sur une petite surprise que l’on aurait certainement pas trouvé chez notre pourvoyeur en musique grand public. Je ne savais pas trop à quoi m’attendre à l’écoute de cette démo d’HYPERDUMP et donc n’en espérait pas grand-chose. Cela m’a permis de me prendre cette démo en plein dans la face et, dieu ce que ça fait du bien !
La musique d’HYPERDUMP possède de sérieux accents Death et Thrash. à ceux-ci s’ajoutent des influences diverses et variés, pas forcément flagrantes de prime abord, mais toujours dans la sphère Metal. On notera donc de petites touches Neo par moment (« Loser »). Les synthés aident à poser les ambiances sans pour autant être jamais Progressifs ou Epiques. Ils sont, un point c’est tout (« Pig Song »). En fait, c’est ce qui frappe. Cette évidence de chaque instrument, ce naturel qui transpire de chaque note, comme s’il ne pouvait pas en être autrement. Tout cela dans une débauche de Metal qui a son propre univers, son propre son. D’ailleurs, les membres du groupe sont fiers de ne se donner aucune limite. Et c’est tant mieux. Si un truc sonne bien, ils l’intègrent sans se soucier si c’est pioché dans un style qui n’a plus droit de cité.
En parlant du son, c’est vraiment un bon gros son pour une démo. Un travail sérieux et productif qui a été fait. J’avoue que j’aurai parfois bien aimé entendre plus les samples et les claviers, mais quand on sait qu’ils sont bien là, on arrive à déceler les effets qu’ils procurent aux morceaux. Ces petits cris stridents à la limite de l’audible mais qui sont ce qui fait qu’on est parfois mal à l’aise.
