Salut bande de petits graisseurs et bandes de petites graisseuses, nous revoici retournés en des temps ancestraux où le Death Metal était Roi. (Hommage à Tonton ZEGUT).
Parce que mon petit lapin en sucre me dit que très peu d'entre vous savent de quoi il en retourne avec ce combo nommé UNANIMATED !
A vos tronches déconfites je vois que je n'ai pas complètement tord !
Revenons donc en 1993, année de l'enregistrement de la première trace discographique du groupe sus-chroniqué. La formation nous offre alors un In The Forest Of The Dreaming Dead sans grand intérêt et noyé dans la masse des sorties de l'époque. L'aventure aurait tout aussi bien pu s'arrêter là sans que personne n'y trouve rien à redire...Mais voici qu'une recrue plus tard ils nous reviennent avec un album monstrueux sortie lui en 1995 Ancient God Of Evil !
L'arrivée de Richard CABEZA (ex DISMEMBER) à la basse semble alors salvatrice. Et c'est un Mélo Death glacial que nous sert le groupe. Mais l'Histoire n'est pas tendre avec eux, car l'année nonante-cinq est celle de tous les dangers pour les formations de Death Metal. Le monde de la Mort s'écroule pour laisser place à d'autres standards, et ce merveilleux brulot passe inaperçu pour la majorité et devient culte pour d'autres, comme votre serviteur.

C'est donc sans prévenir et sans faire de bruit que l'année 2009 est celle du Grand Retour de UNANIMATED !
Alors nom d'une verge molle que mon érection fut douce lorsque j'ai vu leur patronyme indiquer que leur dernière offrande était à chroniquer.
Une vérification du line-up sévissant sur la galette s'imposait, et j'allais de surprise en surprise. Richard CABEZA que je croyais perdu pour la cause est toujours là, mais semble de plus être à l'origine de cette reformation. Le vocaliste Micke JANSSON est présent lui aussi avec son goitre si particulier que l'on pourrait rapprocher d'un certain Tomas LINDBERG. Le poste de six-cordiste est dévolu à un certain Johan « UFO » BOHLIN dont je ne connais que très peu le parcours. Mais le dernier nom sur la liste me tétanise de bonheur, car derrière les fûts on retrouve Peter STJÄRNVIND (ex ENTOMBED) !
Qui aurait pu prévoir pareille chose ?
Alors avec deux pairs fondateurs du Swedish Death Metal en son sein, le quatuor a-t-il vendu son patronyme au plus offrant ?
N'est-il finalement qu'un sous DISMEMBER sauce ENTOMBEDienne ?
Que nenni Messieurs, la chose n'est point possible !
Malgré les années et les changements de personnel, la musique garde son caractère propre, et ce disque est la suite logique de son prédécesseur. Il est le trait d'union entre deux mondes qui pourtant s'annoncent comme fort différents voire ennemis, le Death et le Black. L'enregistrement semble avoir été effectué pendant une de leurs répétitions tant les instruments sonnent naturels. L'atmosphère dégagée n'est pas sans me rappeler celle du dernier BLACK FLAME, malsaine au possible dans un enchevêtrement de complexité orchestrale. C'est somptueusement glauque, et comme aurait dit une copine de la rose, c'est la sombritude absolue !!!
Une alternance de plages atmosphériques complétées par des blasts comme on savait en faire en Suède au tout début des années 1990.
Et le vieux que je suis, atteints de détumescence juvénile reprend enfin un flux sanguin salvateur, et ma douce érection se transforme en...Mais putain en quoi ça vous regarde ça ?
J'ai encore fondu un câble moi !
Alors enfants du Death Metal et fils du Black réunissez vous sous cette bannière qui enfin nous uni pour rendre hommage à ceux que la grâce a touchée.
Ne les laissons pas mettre 14 autres années avant de récidiver !
