Tentons avant toutes choses de définir ce que peut être AXIS POWERS pour les plus profanes d'entre vous !
La dite formation a vu le jour en 1997 dans sa profonde, très profonde Suède natale. Et dès ses premiers balbutiements nos joyeux drilles décident de s'enfermer dans la plus pure des traditions Swedish Old School bizarrement tintée de sonorités à chercher du côté obscure de la Force. La musique du combo ressemble alors à une sorte de copulation entre GRAVE (se) d'un côté et MASACRE (col) de l'autre avec son fameux Requiem sortit en 1991. Là où le premier bas blesse c'est que 12 ans après que la première sauce n'ait pas prise, les cuistots insistent sans beaucoup plus de chance de réussite. Ils poussent même l'émulsion à son paroxysme en plagiant plusieurs de leurs compatriotes. Ainsi peut-on entendre une copie conforme de Clandestine dès le deuxième morceau « Brutal War », mais aussi le riff de Into The Grave sur la troisième piste, et la liste est encore longue. Faut-il vraiment être aux abois pour sortir un album en moyenne tous les six ans et ne pas être capable de composer ses propres mélodies ?
Comme dans tout, à part le cochon bien sûr, tout ne pas être mauvais dans les 8 pistes gravées sur cette galette. La production est alors digne des sorties de 1992, ce qui avouez le est un gage de qualité ? Non ?
Et puis leur style est très bien défini et ne sort jamais des sentiers qu'il a lui même décidé de baliser. Jusqu'à ne plus se rendre compte des changements de morceaux lors de l'écoute. C'est tout de même un exploit d'arriver à copieusement ennuyer son auditoire en seulement 35 petites minutes, non ?
Alors pour ceux qui n'auraient malencontreusement pas compris où je voulais en venir je vais être encore plus clair.
Ce groupe n'a aucune légitimité, il se prétend issu d'un mouvement qu'il n'a simplement pas connu puisque né trop tard. Ce qui pourrait n'être qu'une mauvaise blague se transforme en pillage, et j'en arrive même à me demander ce qu'ils ont bien pu écrire tout seul. Je remarque que de plus en plus de formation agissent ainsi, mais certaines le font avec moins de flagrance.
Je lui trouve même un intérêt non négligeable, celui de pouvoir jouer à un jeu que trop peu répandu, qui est celui de pouvoir demander à vos vieux potes de retrouver le groupe d'origine de tel ou tel riff. Tu vois, on peut même s'amuser en écoutant ce cd.
Ce qui me rassure tout de même un tantinet là dedans, c'est qu'à la finalité ce disque n'a absolument aucune chance de marcher. Comme quoi la crise elle aussi a du bon !
Quelqu'un a-t-il dit qu'il allait appeler la SACEM ?
