Avant de chroniquer un groupe qui m'était encore complètement inconnu il y a quelques semaines je me dois de rendre hommage à son Label. Pack promotionnel de très bonne figure et non pas une vulgaire copie sur Cd/R, biographie succincte mais complète pour qui ne connaissait rien de la formation avant. Et ce n'est pas tout, car le groupe est mis en valeur par la qualité des matériaux choisis, mais aussi par le nombre de données présentes sur la fiche de renseignements. Bravo Messieurs !
Évidemment ceci comporte ses petits défauts, comme le fait de se laissé guider dans la rédaction de notre critique. Alors oui je me suis laissé aller et vous retrouverez un copier/coller du style annoncé dans la bio. Et après tout si c'est cela qui leur parle, pourquoi dirais je le contraire ?
Nous voici donc à la recherche d'une explication relative au Math Death Core !

La traduction du style annoncé tient en quelques mots : MESHUGGAH période Destroy Erase Improve !
Tout est simplement dit dans ces cinq mots, puisque il s'agit ici du meilleur album de la formation suédoise sortit en 1995. Et nos amis méditerranéens ne se sont pas laissé impressionner par la tache à laquelle ils s'attelaient. A l'image de leurs glorieux ancêtres, ils ont tous mis en œuvre pour mettre à terre la bête immonde. Point de ressassé ici, mais un magnifique travail d'artiste jusqu'au boutiste. La source d'inspiration est bien présente, mais elle est respectée pour ne pas apparaître comme étant une pâle copie. Bien au contraire, au delà de la technique nécessaire à l'élaboration d'une telle œuvre, les cinq musiciens ont rajouté quelques éléments comme la violence véhémente dans leur restitution, mais aussi avec des soli plus mélodieux que ceux de Sieur Thordendal.
La production signée Jacob JOCHEM (TEXTURES, INQUEST, …) est limpide et aucune note, malgré le déluge, ne se perd en route. Chaque mouvement de poignet du cogneur est restitué avec une clarté proche de la perfection et n'a d'égale que l'enregistrement du martellement mathématique de ses marteaux de grosse caisse. Même la basse, instrument pourtant délaissé dans la plupart des orgies Metalliques, trouve sa place et démontre qu'aucun manchot n'aurait eu sa place tant la dextérité requise est de haute volée si l'on veut un temps soit peu se retrouver sur ce type d'enregistrement. Reste que le chanteur n'a absolument rien à envier à ses congénères, puisqu'au contraire de la quasi totalité des formations actuelles qui utilisent un brailleur stéréotypé Hardcore, ce dernier vogue dans le registre d'un Kidman. Il y a donc une logique dans tout ça !
Lorsque j'aurai rajouté que ces Messieurs citent pas moins de 6 formations comme étant leurs muses intarissables, où nous retrouvons HACRIDE et GOJIRA, vous aurez compris que l'on ne peut passer à côté d'une telle délectation de brutalité.
