En 2007 arrivait sur la scène Metal française un OVNI musical sous le doux nom d’AYIN ALEPH. Début 2010, l’artiste revient avec un album sobrement intitulé II. On pourrait s’attendre à un nouvel album de compositions originales, mais ce n’est pas vraiment le cas. Ce II propose des revisites des titres de I dans des versions totalement revues pour être interprétés aux seuls piano, clavier et clavecin. Tous les titres ne seront pas repris mais ceux qui le sont, sont entrecoupés d’intermèdes tout en chœurs.
Vous allez donc retrouver les titres les plus intéressants du précédent album mais amputés de leur partie Metal. Plus de guitares, plus de basse, plus de batterie. On ne garde que le cœur des morceaux, mais qui constitue finalement leur âme. Dit comme ça, cela peut paraître dépouillé, mais les morceaux restent riches. Déjà parce qu’AYIN ALEPH a su les arranger pour cette nouvelle manière de les interpréter. Et puis on retrouve toujours la voix d’AYIN, cette voix qui perturbe et qui sait comment occuper le maximum d’espace disponible. Il n’y aura donc pas de moments morts ou ternes. Cependant, vu la nouvelle ossature des morceaux, ce ne sera pas dans la même disposition d’esprit que l’on écoutera ces nouvelles versions. Il ne faudra pas s’attendre à des moments furieux, du moins pas dans le sens où on peut l’entendre habituellement dans le Metal. Par contre, je ne pense pas que d’autres personne que des auditeurs de Metal puissent vraiment rentrer dans ce monde baroque. Il est par trop singulier et hors norme pour cela. De plus, la voix d’AYIN n’a pas changé et il faut quand même avouer qu’elle n’est en rien accessible aisément.
Pour ma part, j’ai préféré les premières interprétations. Je n’ai rien contre des approches annexes au Metal, mais c’est surtout une question de sensibilité. De plus, j’avoue que j’aurais préféré de nouvelles compositions originales plutôt que de nouvelles interprétations. C’est un peu comme quand on sort un album live après seulement un album studio : je trouve que cela n’a pas l’impact que cela pourrait avoir après trois ou quatre albums studios, ni que cela se justifie, d’ailleurs.
