Pour peu que je m'en souvienne, jamais je n'ai penché ne serait-ce qu'une oreille sur un groupe venant de République Tchèque, jusqu'à TRIST. Ce one-man band pratique d'ordinaire un Black dépressif à la sauce SHINING, XASTHUR, SILENCER et ce depuis 2003. Notre jeune homme, surnommé T., s'est fait une bonne renommée auprès des friands de noirceur dont je fais partie. Outre le fait que ce bon bougre aime nous livrer de belles photos de mutilations, il dispose d'une discographie bien garnie, remplie de splits, de démos et de quatre albums. Contre toute attente, cette galette n'est pas un album au caractère sombre, mais plutôt une sorte de Dark Ambiant très particulier. Et cela se nomme sobrement Slunce V Snovém Kraji, Rozplývání, Echa... Tu m'en diras tant mon jeune ami !
En tout cas, le titre de l'album est bien la seule chose que vous trouverez de compliqué. Pour ce qui est du contenu : une piste éponyme, 35 minutes, et c'est tout ! Votre compagnie pendant ce laps de temps aussi long soit-il sera un synthé à l'agonie essayant tant bien que mal de survivre. Alors, le concept en lui-même aurait pu être sympathique si notre artiste ne se serait pas endormi. Sérieusement, que pourrais-je dire sur cette œuvre ? Pas grand-chose pour être franc. Slunce V Snovém Kraji, Rozplývání, Echa... retranscrit l'ennui et la paresse. Autant sur les anciens enregistrements de la formation, on pouvait déplorer des passages trop répétitifs, mais c'était déjà un brin plus consistant à écouter ! Ici, c'est le néant absolu. Trois touches de claviers qui s'alternent et émergent pendant plus d'une demi-heure. Le rythme est extrêmement lent et les variations sont inexistantes. Bon j'exagère, au bout de presque dix minutes, une batterie fantomatique fait acte de présence de temps en temps. Ce n'est pas exceptionnel mais c'est toujours mieux que rien. Et après ? Rien d'autre. On continue sur le même tempo incessamment. Pourtant tout cela n'est pas désagréable à écouter, loin de là ! C'est juste... vide. Ce morceau manque clairement d'ambitions et de contenu. D'après le titre, le sujet abordé ici est le soleil, un thème qui s'annonçait plutôt inspiré sur le papier. Eh bien, si sa lumière était aussi intense que cette piste, on se caillerait souvent les miches... Quoi qu'il en soit, le synthé poursuit sa marche titubante jusqu'à se calmer, encore plus qu'il ne l'était déjà. Je suis maintenant à 23 minutes d'écoute et je jette d'avance l'éponge pour espérer avoir ne serait-ce qu'une initiative de la part de notre hôte. Le thème du départ revient lentement pour se répéter. Bon ! Le temps que la piste se termine, je pense pouvoir boucler cette chronique sans trop de difficultés.
TRIST est certes un groupe qui nous a habitué à des morceaux (très) longs et pas franchement de bonne facture, c'est un fait. Mais là, je dois bien avouer que pour le coup, j'ai été surpris. Surpris d'entendre une telle absence artistique de la part d'un groupe qui s'est fait connaître dans le milieu. Alors peut-être que je n'ai pas la sagesse requise pour pouvoir apprécier Slunce V Snovém Kraji, Rozplývání, Echa... . S'agit-il en fait d'un chef-d’œuvre minimaliste incompris ? Possible. Il n'empêche que c'est l'album le plus creux et ennuyant au possible que j'ai écouté. Et pourtant j'en ai bouffé des somnifères auditifs ! Même le décrié Daudi Baldrs de BURZUM me semble plus riche. Non... à bien réfléchir, je pense que même en adorant le Dark Ambiant, il y a peu de chance que l'on puisse l'apprécier, ou pire, l'acheter ! Si au bout de la première minute d'écoute vous n'accrochez pas, c'est simple : cet album n'est pas fait pour vous. Vous voilà prévenus !
