Maroon opère depuis 1998 et a su se forger une solide réputation grâce à ses prestations scéniques très dynamiques et à son style unique, mélange de Thrash, de HardCore ou encore de Death. Ce nouvel album a été produit par les soins de Tue Madsen (Mnemic, Aborted, The Haunted…) au studio danois Antfarm, et la production est impeccable, épaisse, puissante et traduit bien l’énergie délivrée par le combo en concert. Après une courte et sombre intro, c’est donc à une déferlante de titres agressifs et d’une grande efficacité que nous avons à faire. La section rythmique est particulièrement impressionnante et le chant, même s’il ne fait pas dans l’originalité, est bien maîtrisé et percutant. Le groupe calme relativement le jeu sur la deuxième moitié de l’album : « At the gates of demise » voit les premières apparitions de chant clair et l’instrumentale « The Omega suite », ponctuée de guitare acoustique, constitue un interlude mélodique très réussi qui permet de faire respirer l’ensemble.
Vous l’aurez compris, Endorsed By Hate est un album hargneux et solide, qui sait se faire varié ainsi que mélodique quand il le faut pour ne pas lasser l’auditeur, et qui devrait prendre toute son ampleur en live.
