La participation d’un orchestre symphonique à un album de Metal est toujours un exercice délicat auquel beaucoup de groupes expérimentés se sont heurtés avec plus ou moins de bonheur. Voir Doro Pesch se lancer dans cette aventure est assez étonnant, mais il est vrai que la belle allemande fini par avoir une sacrée expérience et qu’elle doit régulièrement être chatouillée par de tels projets. Pas de surprise du côté des titres présents, c’est du DORO. Par contre les rythmiques sont lentes, le tout est acoustique ce qui explique que l’orchestration soit si bien adaptée.
“Für Immer” est un chef d’œuvre d’émotion parfaitement maîtrisé par la voix chaleureuse de la miss. Le single “Let Love Rain On Me” vaut le détour, mais il est surpassé par “Burn It Up” ou “All We Are”. La reprise de JUDAS PRIEST “Breaking The Law” en duo avec Udo Dirkshneider (ex-ACCEPT) est assez étonnante : elle commence en balade acoustique avec un break symphonique, puis le rythme habituel surgit et la voix éraillée de Dirkshneider débarque en créant la surprise car son premier couplet est mixé sans effet et l’aspect cru de son timbre détonne ; heureusement les choses s’arrangent par la suite. Un must pour les amateurs de JUDAS PRIEST !
Il est agréable de constater combien Doro maîtrise son sujet et évite les écueils, toutefois cet album a l’inconvénients de ses avantages : il faut être sacrement porté sur les ballades pour pouvoir s’en enquiller 12 d’affilé.
