Symphorce où l'autre groupe d'Andy B. Franck de Brainstorm vient nous livrer un "Phorcefuleahead" qui ravira plus d'un amateur de Power Métal mélodique. On sent ici où plutôt on entend, devrais-je dire, qu'avec ce troisième album, Symphorce n'a pas l'intention de faire de la figuration ni de jouer les éternels seconds couteaux.
Cet excellent disque met d'entrée de jeu les choses aux claires après son intro acoustique "Speak My Mind" qui laisse la place à un gros riff et à un refrain entêtant. Le reste est du même acabit, des riffs biens pensés, puissants, des refrains aux belles mélodies et des solos de qualités interprétés par Cede Dupont (Freedom Call).
Les compositions de ce disque sont dotées de petits éléments propres à nous surprendre, le début thrashisant de "Slow Down", les guitares planantes sur "Longing Home", la lourdeur de "Falling Through Again" et "Touched And Infected" avec une voix proche de Megadeth.
Pour parfaire le tout, puisqu'un album de qualité se doit d'avoir une production à la hauteur, c'est Achim Köhler (Brainstorm, Primal Fear) qui se trouve derrière la console afin de donner au groupe un son béton. L'opération est réussie.
Avant de boucler cette chronique, j'allais oublier la pochette, elle aussi magnifique. Quoi de mieux qu'un artwork réussi pour ranger un album qui l'est tout autant !
