Comment parler de ce groupe sans utiliser pleins de superlatifs extravagants ? (même question que dans la première chronique !)
Après avoir influencé et été la référence pour beaucoup de groupes (pourquoi utilisé le passé puisque c'est encore valable aujourd'hui!), Earache (le label) a décidé de ressortir les deux premiers albums (d'anthologie) du groupe en version complétement remasterisée avec un artwork revu, un livret plus fourni et avec une plage vidéo contenant une seule petite vidéo !
Concernant "Blessed Are The Sick", il s'agit là du deuxième véritable album (sorti en 1991) et considéré comme tel par le groupe. Là aussi, l'album se prend un petit coup de jeune grâce à sa remasterisation. Considéré pour beaucoup (dont moi !) comme "Ze album" du groupe et il est vrai qu'il a tout pour séduire, une voix des plus caverneuse, ses rythmes alternant lourdeur, oppression et vitesse, les guitares sont comme toujours aussi majistrales (voir plus), la batterie est martelante de bonheur, l'orchestration est menée d'une main de maître, les ambiances sont surpuissantes, malsaines etc... Pfiou, que ça fait du bien de réécouter du bon vieux Morbid Angel, pas besoin d'en rajouter une couche, tout est vraiment bon dans ce disque, il n'y a rien à jeter...
Je me répète mais c'est tellement vrai : fort de constater que Morbid Angel fait partie de ces groupes qui étaient (à l'époque) un peu avance sur leur temps, des visionnaires ces gars là et surtout le sieur Trey Azagthoth (j'suis un peu gratteux, ceci expliquant cela !). Pas une ride vient ternir ce disque tout en puissance.
Toujours le même petit bémol est à émettre sur le motif réél d'Earache à nous ressortir ce disque. Le profit est sans aucun doute une des raisons car honnêtement ce disque n'apporte pas grand chose et encore moins que "Altars of Madness" puiqu'il n'a qu'une pauvre vidéo (Blessed Are The Sick) soit disant rare et là, même pas de titres remixés...
Tout ceci n'est toujours pas d'un grand intérêt mais là, il faut absolument vous procurer (sauf si vous l'avez déjà !) la pièce maîtresse de Morbid Angel et plus généralement du Death Metal. Evil Death Metal and Morbid Angel Rules...
La note concerne, bien entendu, la qualité de la musique et non pas la volonté de Earache à faire du fric...
